Striving Outwards is a workshop of guided performative writing exercises that engage with the landscape as sensory and subjective experience, and as a collaborative presence in the activity of writing. Workshop activities experiment with methods for writing with rather than about place, and consider possibilities for incorporating such methods into individual critical writing or performance making practices.

The workshop draws on the deep listening techniques of Pauline Oliveros and Allan Kaprow’s Activities to support discussion across disciplines on engagement with place and the relationship between landscape and language.
